Although we would like to help the many worthy organizations, we focus on those that pertain to children's health or education. Two organizations we have been active with lately are Project Education Sudan and The Shriner Hospitals
PAINT SIGN LANGUAGE
Our Denver store sign is a LED lighted Time/Temperature/Message sign which is connected to a computer, giving us the ability to cycle through any number of messages. One day Cindy, our president, suggested we have some fun with the messages, posting quips that might bring a smile, or even a laugh-out-loud to those who passed by. She suggested this idea a week before a national Low-Carb Convention was to be held in Denver, however we were unaware of this event. We had just seen a local candy store change their sign to read "Low-Carb Candy" which inspired us to change our sign message to "Low-Carb Paint". The next morning we heard a local DJ on the radio laughing about "those wacky guys at Belcaro Paint" joining the low-carb craze. Soon the newspapers and TV stations were joining us in the fun. A lady, who had come from out of state to give a presentation at the Low-Carb Convention asked us if she could take a picture of our sign and start her talk with it.
I think those who drive Leetsdale Drive have gotten to know the sign, maybe just for the time and temperature (which is not always accurate) but hopefully the messages occasionally brighten up their day.
